Description
We Grow Ramps
Sold in large bunches of 8-10 plants
Ramps, also known as known as wild leek, spring onion, ramson, wood leek, and wild garlic, is a North American species of wild onion. Ramps are one of the earliest wild edible plants to emerge in spring. As quickly as they appear, when the dense hardwoods under which they grow leaf-out and shade the forest floor the wild leeks disappear.
Ramps are well known for the key ingredient in compound butter, but they also make wonderful pestos. Ramps are a great addition when tossed into soups and salads. And they even make a mean biscuit. There are so many ways to use them, but don’t wait! Ramp season is only but a moment each spring.
The ramps we offer for sale are harvested on private land in a sustainable manner. Less than 1% of the stand is harvested per season which allows for adequate re-population each year.
